Welcome To Creative Minds Counseling
My name is Jay Prospal, and I am the Owner and Clinical Director of Creative Minds Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the State of Ohio, and I have over 10 years of experience helping individuals strengthen communication, build self-esteem, boost mood, improve family relationships, reduce anxiety, and overcome traumatic experiences.
After spending years in the service of youth, families, and adults in agency settings and health care clinics near Seattle, I've decided to open a private counseling practice in northeast Ohio to take the skills I've learned and put them to work for the community I grew up in. I attended St. Barnabas from Kindergarten through 8th grade before moving on to Walsh Jesuit High School. I received my B.A. in Philosophy from Loyola University of Chicago and then attended Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California to complete a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology.
My professional training includes an internship working at Jumping Mouse Children's Center. I've worked and trained at Sound Mental Health as a Wraparound Coordinator helping youth and families improve relationships and strengthen their supports within the community. While working at Child Guidance and Family Solutions, I served as a school based counselor in grade schools, middle schools, and high schools which has given me the opportunity to develop my counseling skills with youth of all ages. I am certified in providing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, and I have advanced training in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), as well.
Carrie Stewart received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University, and her B.A. in Psychology from Marietta College. Carrie has over 30 years experience in the counseling field, and she has served the community in a variety of ways from Adjunct Professor teaching “The Psychology of Youth and Adolescence” at Maretta College, to leading workshops in Depression Awareness and Suicide Prevention, to her current role as an EMDR Consultant training clinicians to use EMDR to help youth and adults heal. Carrie is adept at providing assessment, treatment planning, and counseling service to help children, adolescents, adults, and families.
